First found in 1967, Tanzanite is thought of as the 'Gemstone find of the century'. Millions of years ago, Tanzanite was formed on a vast plain in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. For a long, long time they were hidden from the eye of Man, until one day some passing Masai shepherds noticed some sparkling crystals lying in the sun and took them along with them.
*It is not known whether these stones will be called Tanzanite.
