There are many creation myths surrounding the Opal and most of these tell of Gods and rainbows. The Australian aborigines for example, believed that their creator came to Earth on a rainbow, to spread a message of peace to his people, and where his foot stepped on the Earth, the stones around became Rainbow like and glistened with a myriad of colours.
